DIRECTOR

James is an award winning director who has directed two short documentaries STREETCAR and FROM NORTH TO SOUTH KOREA. He is currently in production on his first feature documentary IN A WILD STATE.

In A Wild State

IN A WILD STATE follows Invasive feral cats which are wiping out native species across Australia. An unlikely group of non-Indigenous conservationists and Indigenous trackers come together to take back the land in a daring conservation project: fencing in, tracking and exterminating these cats so they can reintroduce species tied deeply to the identity of the continent. This feature length documentary is a meditative exploration on our relationship with nature: how we try to control it, our place within it and our common humanity through it.

From North To South Korea

FROM NORTH TO SOUTH KOREA follows James as he travels to North Korea to see a country seemingly off limits to the outside world where he is accompanied by government guides who show him a carefully curated itinerary. Paralleled with conversations with his South Korean friend, two worlds divided by a 70+ year stalemate come face to face through an unexpected video interaction.

Streetcar

STREETCAR explores the sense of home and identity in the people of post Katrina New Orleans, who all either ride or work on one of the city’s most defining image: the St. Charles Streetcar.
